Floatation Therapy: Our Self-Care Experience

In this journey of cultivating the best marriage, my husband and I decided we would practice self-care together. Last fall, we made the first step in catering to us (individually and as a couple) by trying Float Therapy for the first time. Since then, it has become one of the many things we enjoy doing with one another.


While practicing self-care as an individual is essential, it is equally important to practice that care together, hence trying Floatation Therapy.


Although this was something we did together, it was an activity that allowed us to benefit from being in our separate spaces. We had different rooms that contained our Float Pods. It gave us double the benefit; we completed together but still had the space needed to address our individual needs.


Our session was an hour. It brought us many gratifying rewards. One of those rewards included the opportunity to practice idleness and calmness of the mind. We had time to meditate, release anxiety and stress, and clear the mind. The floatation therapy also allowed us to enhance our self-awareness, release tension and address our spiritual needs.


For us, this experience brought us closer to ourselves as well as to each other. The therapy brought to the forefront where we both would like to be as individuals and gave a sense of renewal to our marriage and spiritual growth.
