Love, an emotion so profound that it can turn the ordinary into extraordinary. It is the foundation of human interaction, the glue that holds relationships together, and the fuel that drives us to achieve our dreams. My personal love story of having the one to find me and make my love life complete.
The Beginnings
Love stories often start in the most unexpected places. A chance encounter, a shared interest, or even a simple smile can spark a connection that can change two lives forever. Our story also begins in such an unexpected manner, where individuals unknowingly embark on a path that would lead them to each other. The beginnings might seem ordinary, but it is in these simple moments that love starts to bloom. I remember meeting him at a young age, maybe 9 or 10. We didn’t interact much then, just seeing each other in passing because we attended the same summer camp. In adulthood, we would later connect at an event, and although we both knew something was there, the timing wasn’t right for us to be anything more than friends.
The Journey
Six years after seeing him at that event, he texted me to see how I was doing. That one random text led to an all-day thing. Catching up and being lost in conversation. We finally decided we would go out on a date the next day. This was my first time seeing him in a while, and the sight of him took my breath away. I had butterflies, and he later expressed that he did, too. He was very well put together; saying he was handsome would be an understatement, but he was pure beauty to my eyes. This date made me feel so alive. All of his focus and undivided attention was on me. He treated me exceptionally well, being a perfect gentleman. We had an amazing time. I remember feeling safe with him…protected and most of all, FREE. Free to be authentic. Free to be ME without judgment. I remember this vividly because no one else has ever made me feel that way.
As the connection deepened, the journey of our love became more exhilarating. It is filled with shared laughter, mutual understanding, respect, and a sense of comfort that only comes when you know you have found your better half…no, correction, my kindred soul. He is one complete person, just as I am, making this so special. The first man I have been with who is whole all by himself and does not need me to complete him, fulfill a void, or compensate for some other lack. I am simply his woman. He allows me to embody being a woman in its wholest form. Together, we have created a safe space that enables me to be soft and gentle, live unapologetically in my truth, and be worry-free. This is the first time a man has made me feel so comfortable that I can put my trust in him…trust that he can take the lead and not lead us astray.
We have had many shared experiences that have strengthened our love bond. Every moment, from the extravagant of spending weeks in the most beautiful islands and planning spontaneous trips to San Franscrio to watch the Warriors play to the smallest yet very cherishable moments of binge-watching Netflix together and having family night, the journey of love is a beautiful dance where two hearts move in sync, creating a harmony that is both enchanting and mesmerizing.
The Union
The culmination of this journey is the union of our two hearts, a moment where our two souls have become one. This union is not just a celebration of love but also a testament to our separate journies that brought us together. It is a declaration of commitment, a promise to stand by each other, and a pledge to love each other forever and always. Creme de la Creme…the very best was saved for last.
