As 2023 is heavily underway, March is an excellent time to be reminded about your self-care. The excitement of starting a new year and being able to set new goals has begun to taper off. From February until now, those who have genuinely committed to their goals have been working hard. The old adage goes, “work hard, play harder.” Your self-care and scheduling downtime are critical. It’s just as important as setting your goals. Just as you plan how to accomplish your weekly goals, your downtime/personal goals should be incorporated into that planning.
Resting and rejuvenating are essential. You should not feel guilty when your body and mind need a break. After all, the only way you can be the best you and continue to have the willpower to stay motivated is by factoring in that you have to take care of your mind, body, and spirit.
So, let’s check-in.
Dear Reader,
How are you? How are things? Are you well, happy, and healthy?
Let’s take a moment to acknowledge all you have accomplished thus far. Give yourself a pat on the back. You deserve it. You also deserve to make time for yourself and indulge in what you enjoy. Rewarding yourself, celebrating your achievements, and making time for self-care, will prevent you from becoming burnt out. Over the next couple of days, review your plans for accomplishing your goals. Take the time to go back and schedule some self-care. Keep your self-care as small as you like, such as listening to your favorite playlist, or go as extravagant as you want by planning a nice vacation.
You’ve got this. And remember, I’m rooting for you.
