This past weekend I had the chance to experience the Essence Festival that is held in New Orleans, LA. One of the most informative thing I learned is that the Essence Festival is an amazing event for new entrepreneurs, upcoming entertainers and anyone else wanting to promote their artistry, brand or small business. It has so much more to offer than entertainment, and serves a bigger purpose than getting away with your girlfriends. It is a great place to network. It presented so many opportunities to meet new business owners, well-established business owners, and celebrities that could all give useful insight from various perspectives. There were even businesses there whose sole purpose is to promote and provide resources to newcomers.
Unfortunately, I was not prepared to network. This was my first time attending, so I was not sure what to expect. I do plan to do more in-depth research to see what opportunities I can take advantage of and what best fits with what I am trying to accomplish. I also plan to attend the event next year so that I can promote Intuitive Intuition, expand my audience and gain more resources that would be helpful to me and my purpose. The event is one that is more than entertainment and the best part…attending the activities at the convention center are free! This is a major plus for any entrepreneur that is limited when it comes to money.
I strongly encourage people to attend the event. If it’s your first time going, you may want to take time in your first trip to observe, get a feel of what it has to offer and how you can specifically take advantage of the opportunities there. Take business cards and promote!
